In our Produce Store we take delivery of fresh fruit and vegetables three times a week. Our bread from Real Patisserie and is delivered fresh, daily. Here you will find our wonderful homemade pies – meat and vegetarian – using meat Holmansbridge, Bookhams butter and organic flour.
Our produce store is stacked full to bursting with a wide range of some of the finest, locally produced foods Sussex has to offer including Ouse Valley, Cocoa Loco, Goupie of Hawkhurst, Holmansbridge Meats, Goodwood Organic Milk and Cream, Downsview Dairy Milk and Ice Cream, Sussex High Weald Dairy, Bookhams and many more. We also have weekly deliveries from Infinity Foods in Brighton.
Award Winning Products
Our customers know that we strive to ensure that our products are local, fair trade organic. We cannot always ensure that every product meets each of these criteria, but we go to great lengths to do our best.
Following the news that Tyrells has been bought up by a chain, we have looked far and wide for an independent replacement supplier. After much deliberation we have chosen Fairfield Farm Crisps, an award winning family owned business whose values and quality of product resonates strongly with our own. They are based in Essex and they plant, grow, harvest, cook and bag every packet of crisps they sell. They can even trace each crisp packet back to the potatoes used and the field it was grown in. That’s the kind of loving care that we value most – and we know our customers do too.
Ouse Valley Foods
The Gold Awards were awarded to Spiced Aubergine Pickle which received two stars, judges commented “a perfect balance of spices gives a very harmonious product. Great to see Aubergine put to such good use, very well balanced with depth of flavour”. A gold star was awarded to Brighton Belle Plum Jam with judges commenting “really plumy – like granny used to make, we love the tang and fruity flavour of this preserve”. The Traditional Piccalilli was awarded a gold star “a vibrant piccalilli with crisp vegetables”.
Ouse Valley are passionate about the seasonality and provenance of what we make, using nothing but the freshest, most natural ingredients. As much as possible our produce comes from local growers so we ensure authenticity and quality. No artificial preservatives or colours are ever used and each batch is cooked in small numbers to safeguard quality.
Seasonal specialities are an important part of their range. They value the countryside’s abundance. Berries and blossoms are considerately picked and used to flavour and spike jellies and jams creating unique blends and colours. Based at Ashgrove Farm in East Sussex, Ouse Valley sells nationally and internationally to only the finest independent retailers and farm shops.
